Israel’s West Bank expansion defies President Obama

Defense Minister Ehud Barak said that the building of Jewish settlements in the West Bank is “a national necessity.”

Daniel Levy, the co-director of the Middle East Task Force at the New America Foundation, joins Daljit Dhaliwal to discuss the issue of settlements and whether or not there will be a freeze on settlement construction.

israel never killed anyone disobient soldiers did who you stereotype all jews on (like hitler did) oh and did you read my comment on UN decides to postpone teaching holocaust because muslims deny holocaust (which you said they dont)

Joshua: how does Israel care about everyone, by shooting them with it F16s. Remember that Israeli school are not leting Black Jewish students into its schools, so save me the propoganda and let us talk about facts. Israel killed more than 10,000 Palestinians in the last 8 years

to DH the victims were taken to a hospital israel allows arabs acess to healthcare ( which hamas doesnt) israel is caring to all people even the particularly irritating ones (like you)

to ed jonston, #2:You want to arrest American Jews for antitrust, in “jonson list’ are also included American Jews created nukes and arms arsenal for America, 100 Nobel price scientists , doctors, musicians, film directors… Nazi did the same, you know how they ended. 2. “Palestinian property”=soil and dust, read Mark Twain book travel to Holy Land. 3.”human behavaur is not jewis”; I think Jonson is a British name. So, British rule colonies for hundred years with “human behavour” and left behind harmony?? 4. “american jews have lobby powers”, There is only Jewis lobby in Washington. How about Chinese, Arab, Korean, Japanese… lobbies, they don’t Exist??
5.”no people can live among them in harmony”- give me one period in human history when people lived in “harmony”. British are living with Irish in “harmony”??. Any region has wars and conflicts.

Police arrested the gunman, and said that during questioning he claimed that he had been attacked by six Arabs from east Jerusalem, and was acting in self defense.

Jack, Sweaty Pie, you do not know anything about international law, history, or politics. your analogies are unfair and your application of facts lacks honesty. Thus you stay put and never blog again

Israel is fully and totall within its legal rights to (a) have nuclear weapons, as it never signed the NPT and developed its capabilities before there even was an NPT, and (b) absolutely DOES NOT have to end its so-called “occupation” unless and until the defeated Arab states sign peace treaties FULLY recognizing the JEwish state’s RIGHT to exist in accordance to the UN authorization of November 1947, and that “Palestine” is the Jewish National Home as the Council of the League of Nations ruled back in 1922, and enshrined in the Mandate.

The US did not end the occupation of Japan until it implemented a US-written constitution which changed its total social and political structure. More or less the same with Germany. And the US still maintains troops in both countries even today.
Israel is the victor of wars imposed upon it by the surrounding Arab states and does not have to submit to diktats from Mecca or anywhere else. It is fully within its legal rights to keep control over all the conquered territories as long as its demands are not met. No conqueror gives up conquered land to the vanquished who refuse to recognize the conqueror’s right to exist! This is unheard of in the annals of human history. If the Arabs still think they can conquer Israel and take it back force, they are welcome to try again. Otherwise, they must meet Israel’s very just demands, which are quite reasonable by any normal standard.

Occupation of Palestine and land grabbing settlement, amassing and hiding nuclear arsenal is repugnant and illegal. The Western World must demand end of occupation, land usurpation, and transparency of Israel nuclear arsenal without any reservation. The Western media rarely if ever discloses the nuclear weapons of Israel, and rarely condemns it for using advanced and sophisticated weapons supplied by US, used on civilians, women and children. Palestinian land is not only grabbed but destroyed.Innocent children are maimed, men and women treated inhumanely in an apartheid like system. This is a country that profess to be democratic and yet occupies, oppress and subjugate Palestinians in their own land against all norms, UN resolutions, and international laws. It does it with impunity and we the taxpayer have to foot the bill and our government for years have turn the blind eye. We in the USA consider ourselves as champion of human rights but we never even once mentioned the violations or condemned the injustices meted out to the Palestinians. Our double standards are well known in the rest of the world, and we cannot play the role of honest broker unless we stand up firmly against injustices and take effective steps to stop it, regardless of who it is – friends, allies or foes.

Most people don’t know that the Romans were originally allies of the Hasmonean commonwealth, but due to internal quarrels between Jewish factions, the Romans were invited in to arbitrate, and ended up never leaving. The US is supposedly an ally, but is now buckled under and has turned on Israel. And traitors from Haaretz, like Daniel Levi, are the only ones now invited to media outlets like World Focus, BBC, et al, because the media now caters to huge audiences of the Muslim world and cannot have on right wingers or even Jewish moderates for fear of alienating their far more numerous Arab audiences. The days when Israel can have a fair hearing are gone forever! The Jewish people must take its destiny in its OWN hands, and return to build up the rest of its historic homeland before they have to run as German Jews did from Nazi Germany in the 1930s! There were those, like Jabotinsky who warned European Jewry what was coming, but few heeded him. And so half died. The time to come home to Israel is at hand. The Golden Country is turning to brass, and the future for Jews in AMerica is in the past. America is now ripe for a Muslim takeover.

ISrael should give the Palestinians and the Arab states an ultimatum. Either they all fully recognize the right of the Jewish state to exist in peace or else it will unilaterally annex the Judah, Samaria and Gaza, and open it up to homesteading, offering any Jewish immigrant from the US who comes and serves 3 years in the IDF a FREE plot of land to build a home on. It should also thank America for its past aid, but tell it that it no longer needs US aid, thank you, and only asks that the US also cut off aid and arms sales to the Arabs equally as well. Israel was built by pioneers from 1882 – 1948 without a penny of US aid and can do it again. I think they can challenge JEwish youth from America to come and build up the rest of the country as the old pioneers did then, even if it means living in tents or mobile homes for a few years. It is time for Israel to put an end to these fruitless negotiations. The Muslims will never accept Israel no matter what it does, and it is time to end the farce once and for all. Judah and Samaria are historical Jewish lands and Jews should have every right to resettle and rebuild their homeland and not be slaves to American aid and bullying, telling Jews where they can or can’t live. Jews did it before and can do it again.

This Israeli government the most right wing in Israel history is not interested in peace and the sooner the US comes to terms with it the better.

It is a waste of time and resources dealing with them, they are playing for time trying to pass the Obama administration and maintain the status quo which means more Palestinian land grabs.

The US needs to give Israel a simple ultimatum, come to an agreement within specified amount of time 1-2 years and if no agreement is reached by than, declare unilaterally the creation of a Palestinian state and push its recognition in the UN.

We use our aid/funding programs all of the time to influence our foreign policy, so why is it so difficult to get Israel to follow along? If we were to substantially cut the billion we give to them, they would stop settlement building. Palestinians live in an Apartheid State and we support this? Insane.

its probably too late to arrest american jews for antitrust / lack of loyalty for america, every jew here in a jewelry store or any store is destined to receive gods gift of holy land ,,= stolen palestineon property, human behavour is not jewish, as long as american jews continue to have exertion lobby powers, democracy is beaten down from the american voter, which in it self leaves much to be desired , since jews were cast out of egypt into the desert fornacation and deceipt have been the jewish mark in trade, no people can live amongs them in harmony without being exploited…

Here it is a statement by an executive committee member of the PLO Zahir Muhsein. He confirmed that there is no such thing as a separate ‘Palestinian’ people of Arab descent. In an interview with the Dutch newspaper Trouw in March 31, 1977, he stated the following:

“The Palestinian people do not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity.
In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”

How and when Palestinian problem emerged

In 1975, by its resolution 3376 the General Assembly established the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian people. At that time, Secretary-General of the United Nations was Kurt Waldheim.

So, the question is how this resolution emerged in 1975? The analysis of historic documents revealed two undeniable facts:

Fact 1. In 1920s-30s, Palestinian Muslims committed massacre of Jews in Jewish land of Palestine murdering thousands of children and civilians. The murder was organized by the founder and supreme leader of the Arab Higher Committee, Haj Amin al Husseini, the Mufti of Jerusalem, and supported by British Administration of Palestine. The primary objective was elimination of all Jews from Palestine. The massacre was, in reality, the Holocaust committed by Palestinian Arabs.

Haj Amin was a close friend of Hitler. In 1941, Haj Amin came to Berlin and visited Hitler. He brought the Holocaust idea to Hitler. In 1943, Amin organized Bosnian Muslim battalions in Croatia comprising some twenty thousand men. The battalions were put in Waffen-SS units, fought Yugoslav partisans in Bosnia; thousands of Serbs, Roma (‘Gypsies’) and Jews hunted down by Haj Amin’s SS troops were killed by those same troops, or they were sent to the Islamic death camp Jasenovac. After the WWII, the International tribunal declared Haj Amin war criminal; however, he escaped prosecution, fled to Egypt and then Palestine where he organized Fatah. After his death in 1974, Arafat, who was Haj Amin lieutenant, became Fatah commander. He organized PLO. Thus, PLO and Fatah were created by people close to Nazi, based on Nazi ideology.

Fact 2. Kurt Waldheim was a Nazi SS officer in WWII, committed numerous crimes in Europe and responsible for death of thousands of European. He is a war criminal.

These two facts clearly show that the Palestinian issue was introduced to commemorate Nazi-Palestinian Muslims unbreakable criminal connection and to recognize PLO-Fatah as Nazi successor. After 1980, every Secretary General, including the current, and entire UN staff uphold Nazi legacy of Kurt Waldheim.

Why should the USA continue to support the aim of
“Greater Israel”? Is it because of the influence of the “Jewish Lobby” in the USA?

Article 24 of the 1964 PLO charter stipulates: Palestinian muslims do not claim Judea and Samaria (West Bank) and Gaza their territories” which gives Israel full legal rights to remove muslims from occupied Israel land.

I see no point in your totally un-informative interviews if you aren’t going to ask relevant questions such as: Why hasn’t the UN called for sanctions against Israel and termination of foreign aid. Is everyone so afraid of the Jews that they can do whatever they want with impunity? That’s the kind of biased inaction that leads to war! Anyone with a brain can see what the Jews are up to. They want to implement the Zionist’s 1919 territorial plan which claims all territories east of the Dead Sea and the Jordan river including the Golan and the lower part(Shebaa Farms) of Lebanon which they partially accupy. If the Palestinians and Arabs are serious about an soverign Palestinain state they had better make their vocies known and demand UN Sanction against Israel and all those nations, including the U.S. Britain, France and Germany that provide Israel with assistance! Otherwise they are just blowing in the wind!

I think the world’s only Jewish state should learn two things: 1) Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s land, 2) Thou shalt not steal thy neighbor’s land.

Dear Worldfocus: I have seen Mr. Levy three times in a raw talking about the settlements issue. He did not bring anything new on the subject. He has nice accent that is all. I see no analysis, no predictions, no clear view on what is coming next in the Middle East. I suggest other voices on the subject to ensure transparency, fairness, and quality.

Boris, there has been been 8 wars between Israel and the Arabs. 1948, 1956, 1966, 1967, 1973(not1972) as you always put it, 1982, 2006, 2008/9. Accoring to all historians who know what they are talking about, but not zionist or Christain Zionists like Michale Evans et all. Israel started all these wars excepet 1973. The Palestinians go back to the year 7500 BC in thal land to the Cannaniets. So if you want to go back to your Jewish histrory your year is 5767. So the Palestinians are 2000 years before you. But as a Russian Zionist and racist the natives mean nothing for you. The Way Germany treated you in the 1930s and 1940s you are trating the Palestinians now

Arabs steal the Holy Land in Xl century.
Under Arab and Ottoman rule Holy Land were desecrated and smear. Arab presence in what is today Israel was so insignificant, before the arrival of Zionist pioneers, that modern Palestinian claims on the land are unfounded. Every Arab supporter can find prove in Mark Twain book “the Innocents Abroad.”
Israel free the territories in self-defense,
in response to aggression by Egypt, Syria and Jordan.
U.N. Resolution does not require complete Israel withdrawal from territories and Oslo accords recognize Israel’s right to remain in territories, at least until a final settlement is reached. The Arab nations initiated all five wars and lost, but still dictated to Israel demands. Now B.Obama administration joined to Arab aggressor demands.

Dorn: Have you red anything since 1950, since you began writing on this website, you have been writing the same points.Amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing

How about some Palestinian voices on this! why do you have to always invite a former Israeli official on the subject. After all, we are talking about a Palestinian land not Israeli.

I would say to :-(09/08/2009 :: 06:23:20 PM
mark modeste)- , if Israel had not ridden rough-shod over JFK in illegally, irresponsibly and insanely building its own nuclear weapons system there would not only be no danger of IRAN pushing for the same but, indeed, probably the nuclear monster would not have gotten out of the bag for India & Pakistan. There seems to be something universally wrong in the head with peoples who are essentially tribal and therefore incapable of adopting a civilized ‘rule-of-law’ mentality. President Carter was right when he revealed the Apartheid State of Israel and that the Holocaust Industry will never give up its barrier wall against public airing of the truth via US news media.

All you have to do is look at the names of the people who posted the comments & you can tell what side of the fence they will be on. The Israelis should follow the UN’S demands.

the jews were there first they can kick others off it as the jews were kicked off

joshua, Are you one of those that believe God gave all the land to the Jews and it’s their right to kick others off of it. And, to treat them as 2nd class citizens like the So. African whites treated the blacks. Do you condon this form of Apartheid?

the us cannot pressure israel over building settlements for the land is rightfully theirs the muslims would do the same and worse if they controlled the west bank oh and to ed, doron said settlements are not the biggest issue not that they arent an issue

Doron, If settlements are not the issue, then stop them, give the land back, and see what happens. While there are several reasons why most Muslims hate Israel and the West, the core issue is the Israeli illegal settlement which the US has turned a blind eye. It gives terrorist the excuse to continue the jihad against Israel and the West.

I use to admire Israel – not anymore.  For a group who suffered as they did, it’s amazing how soon they forgot and have turned from the oppressed by Germany to the oppressor of Palestine

Why does World Focus harp on settlements, while ignoring every Arab sign of rejection of coexistence?

It would not matter if there were no settlements, nor if the Dalai Lama is Israel’s Prime
Minister, nor if Israel was just Tel Aviv. The Arab world has scarcely shifted its
attitudes since it invaded the tiny new Jewish state of Israel in 1948. Ignoring that and
pressuring Israel for one-sided concessions is not going to bring peace. The most vital
need is for the Arab world to give up its current quiet goal of destroying Israel
politically, after the failure of military means.

Maybe World Focus will do a service to its viewers if it reported what Mahmoud Abbas said
at the recent Fatah convention in Bethlehem – instead of incessantly attacking over
“settlements”. In any event, the proposed homes are within the boundaries of existing towns/ settlements.

At that convention, Abbas reiterated that he will never recognize Israel as a Jewish
state. He repeated support for the Al Aqsa Brigades, and boasted of their attacks. He
appointed a commission to investigate how “Israel murdered Yasser Arafat” (sic.)

Above all, he demanded that refugees be resettled in pre-1967 Israel, not the West Bank.
This denies the rights of the similar number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands. It
sidesteps Arab responsibility for starting the wars that led to BOTH refugee issues.

Will you ever tell of Israelis concerns from representative Israelis views, not fringe
voices like Daniel Levy?

Will you ever tell the story of Jewish refugees from Arab countries?

Will you ever point out that the bottom line is 60 years of Arab rejection of a two-state
solution, no matter how small is Israel?

Will you ever tell the story of Jews who lived in East Jerusalem (they were a majority in
the old city till they were driven out in the 1920’s) and Hebron and Safed and their
travails prior to 1948?

Israel’s actions show they want land more than peace! The US should show tough love and penalize Israel is they don’t stop stealing Pal future homeland. Cut off aid and quit being the only supporter of Israel in the UN. We support them when we know they are wrong. This has allowed them to continue their unjust policies.

Instead of trying to stop Israel from Building houses, why not stop Iran from making a neuclear bomb to destroy all of Israel. One is helping humanity, one wants to destroy humanity.

The land theft continues in Israel and must be stopped for any hope of peace. The United States should stop all financial support of Israel and block all funds leaving the USA for that nation.
