What has occured with the archaelogists in Israel could be applied (in a way) to the current global crisis (in a certain sense): What Old Texts could be re-read from various histories, annals, and wisdom literatures or could be read anew or, as mentioned: re-read in a more global way to determine “subconcious languages” now being spoken beneath the ongoing patterns in the modern world? What is necessary to read and meditate upon in between the lines of modern ongoing dialogues? If any of these ideas are considered meaningless, archaeology is still an ongoing literal process even to the levels of allegory.
