And on Tuesday yet another surprise emerged from North Korea  – word of a possible successor to Kim Jung-il, North Korea’s frail and reclusive leader.

South Korea’s national intelligence service reports that Kim Jung-il has chosen his third son, Kim Jong-un.

John Park, a Senior Research Associate with the United States Institute of Peace, joins Martin Savidge to discuss the significance of the announcement, Kim Jong-un’s attitude toward the West and regional tension over projected missile tests.
