Red Cross claims Israel is denying access to Gaza

The United Nations labeled the Gaza humanitarian crisis a “critical situation,” claiming that the Israeli pauses in attacks are not long enough to allow sufficient aid into Gaza. The Red Cross accused Israel of impeding rescue workers with dirt roadblocks and refusing to grant the Red Cross access to people in need. Israel issued a statement saying that it works in close cooperation with organizations providing aid to civilians.

The crisis has brought questions of international law violation on the part of Israel, as increasing numbers of Palestinian civilians die or suffer injury. Worldfocus speaks with Benjamin Krasna, Israel’s deputy consul general in New York, and lets him respond to these questions.

Gaza strikes pause briefly to allow humanitarian aid

The Israeli military stopped its strikes for a few hours on Wednesday to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza, and it says it will continue to allow some food and fuel into the region in the coming days.

Strikes resumed, as did Hamas rockets, after the pause.

Gaza violence threatens civilian safety

Since the most recent violence in Gaza began, conflicting reports about civilian hardships have emerged from either side.
