Hi, your story about the current relationship between the U.S. and the Philipines was correct it just touched upon the begining of that relationship.
If my eyes did not deceive me Staney Karnow’s book In Our Image was on the table at the Starbuck’s interview. The “War” between the U.S. and the Philipines (Insurection) was the real first mistep the U.S. took deceiving the nationalist that were fighting the Spanish before Adm. Dewey arrived to trick them and ceased the country as a U.S. colony. They killed over 200,000 Filipinos and about 80,000 U.S. men were killed in this UNKNOWN WAR. You should do a story on the begining of this love and hate relationship along with Colonel Fredrick Funston’s roll. This huge historic story would make a great movie even better documentory.

thanks, rv
