Inefficiency mars Britain’s cradle-to-grave health promise

As President Barack Obama prepares to pitch his health care speech to Congress tomorrow night, Al Jazeera English’s Harry Smith reports on how Britain’s National Health System is faring 60 years after its inception.

The British National Health System is the world’s largest publicly-funded health care system. And while it’s free, it’s still controversial.

Obama health reforms can be less ambitious . For a start a law demanding health coverage is incorporated into the minimum wage . The government should only be responsible for students and unemployed.
