July becomes deadliest month for U.S. in Afghanistan

It has been the deadliest month for U.S. troops in Afghanistan since the war there started nearly eight years ago.

On Tuesday, in the eastern part of the country, Taliban militants and suicide bombers launched a highly-orchestrated attack. A shootout followed, and by the time it was over, 14 people were dead.

Lisa Curtis, a senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation, joins Martin Savidge to discuss how the attacks were carried out, the presidential elections scheduled for next month and the security situation throughout the country.
