U.S., Russia emphasize nuclear arms reduction in meeting

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met in Washington on Thursday with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, both emphasizing the importance of reducing nuclear arsenals.

Lavrov and Clinton expressed optimism that disagreements that have strained Russian-American relations in recent years are easing, and will not stand in the way of a new round of arms control negotiations.

Daryl Kimball, the executive director of the Arms Control Association, joins Martin Savidge to discuss the nuclear arsenals of Russia and the U.S., the imminent expiration of the START treaty reducing nuclear weaponry and the future of arms talks.
