Housing collapse spells doom for Spain’s tile makers

Spain has an unemployment rate of 14.8 percent, the highest in Western Europe. Like many other countries, Spain went through a long period of robust growth. But then the housing market collapsed — bad news for millions of homeowners.

Worldfocus correspondent Martin Seemungal reports from the town of Vila Real in eastern Spain, where many people make their living making tiles. Suddenly, no one wants or needs what they make.
